This position primarily follows a remote work schedule; however, candidates must reside in Pennsylvania and be able to commute to the Philadelphia or Bethlehem offices as needed.
Role Overview:
New York Life Group Benefits Solutions (GBS) is seeking a Director of Service Reporting and Analytics to lead our efforts in developing a comprehensive reporting strategy that drives data-informed decisions and operational improvements. This role is critical to ensuring that our teams are equipped with the insights they need to operate efficiently and that data is leveraged to enhance client service, productivity, and business performance.
This position will focus on building a cohesive reporting framework to guide strategic initiatives, manage data governance, and oversee a team of analysts to ensure consistent, high-quality reporting and analytics. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, engage senior leadership with meaningful data insights, and support a continuous improvement culture within the organization.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and Execute Reporting Strategy:
· Lead the development of a holistic reporting strategy that aligns with GBS’s goals, enhancing data accessibility, governance, and utility across the organization.
· Define and manage key reporting frameworks and data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and reliability.
Team Leadership and Development:
· Oversee a team of reporting analysts, fostering an environment of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.
· Set clear goals, responsibilities, and performance expectations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and adherence to best practices.
Data and Analytics:
· Partner with the Data & Analytics team to design, develop, and enhance KPI tracking, supporting a performance-driven culture within GBS Service.
· Ensure reporting solutions capture meaningful metrics, providing insights into key business drivers and helping identify opportunities for operational improvements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
· Serve as a key liaison between Service, IT, and other departments to promote transparency and drive alignment on data priorities.
· Communicate complex data insights in clear, concise presentations to influence decision- making and inform leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities.
Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization:
· Actively engage in root cause analysis, process improvement initiatives, and workflow optimizations that streamline operations and improve service outcomes.
· Utilize data-driven insights to recommend process enhancements, driving efficiency and sustainable improvement in reporting and analytics. · Project and Operational Oversight:
· Oversee major projects and process changes within the Service organization, ensuring alignment with business needs and timelines.
· Monitor operational metrics and implement controls to ensure accuracy and consistency in data reporting.
What You’ll Bring:
- 7+ years in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting, preferably within the Group Benefits industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, with a track record of setting and achieving strategic objectives.
- Strong background in data governance, reporting frameworks, and business process optimization.
- Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Understanding of data architecture, cloud-based data solutions, and best practices in data management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence without authority and foster positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to think strategically and drive alignment of data initiatives with business goals.
- Proven success in implementing data-informed improvements and creating high- impact reporting solutions.
- This role requires a combination of technical acumen, strategic insight, and leadership skills to drive impactful data initiatives and support the evolving needs of the GBS Service organization and broader GBS organization.

Pay Transparency
Salary range: $117,500-$155,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
