Role Description

This role will serve as Field Director for the Institutional (COLI markets) sales team.  Role will focus on the sales of COLI (private placement and registered) through independent distribution channels that focus on large case executive benefits. You will be accountable for the performance and results of a large area with multiple related teams or advanced professionals. Must have substantial knowledge of institutional distribution, the COLI marketplace,  and have established relationships with existing COLI distribution partners.


Remote Opportunity - this position has significant travel related to the role and reports to the Institutional Life Sales lead located in Leawood, Kansas.


Role Requirements


Technical Expertise:

  • Knowledge of corporate finance and tax issues
  • Understanding of advanced market concepts
  • Understanding of COLI and executive benefits markets
  • Understands 3rd party independent distribution
  • Requires broad and comprehensive understanding of internal and external best practices


Functional Knowledge:

  • Applies broad industry awareness to drive sales results
  • Ability to recruit, train and onboard 3rd party distribution
  • Ability to present advanced concepts to large audiences
  • Have established relationships in the industry
  • Ability to work well within a team


Problem Solving:

  • Directs the resolution of the most complex problems or strategic business challenges  
  • Covers a range of activities that require complex judgments and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought
  • In-depth analysis with interpretive thinking is required to define problems and develop innovative solutions


Decision Making / Nature of Impact:

  • Has responsibility for making and driving significant decisions that impact the strategy and performance within an area
  • Has full ownership of market and projects, processes and planning
  • Must be able to influence others regarding business and/or functional strategy decisions


  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Series 6 or eligible to obtain Series 6 within 3-6 months of hire
  • College degree preferred






Salary range: 120,000 - 160,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: Yes
