NYLIFE Securities LLC is registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) as a broker-dealer, a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company. Part of New York Life’s Wealth Management division, NYLIFE Securities provides brokerage services to retail investors through more than 6,000 affiliated Registered Representatives (RRs) who offer mutual funds, retirement and 529 plans, full-service brokerage accounts (stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds), as well as variable annuity and insurance products.

 

NYLIFE Securities’ Service & Operations efforts are a key component of New York Life’s Foundational Business strategy to serve more client needs through investments solutions.

 

The Senior Representatives will leverage a deep understanding of brokerage and mutual fund products & accounts to service incoming calls and provide best in class customer service to our Registered Representatives, their staff and clients. This is a structured call center position that includes learning and communicating operational brokerage procedures, regulatory & industry guidelines, and multi-tasking on multiple systems in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities may also include participation in department initiatives or special projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class service to our Registered Representatives and clients by taking approximately 40 inbound calls per day
  • Provide up to date information on product & account specifications, including features like checking and margin, account performance, general tax information, account balances, and pricing inquiries
  • Resolve escalated issues by researching and collaborating with our Service & Leadership Teams
  • Advance toward placing orders on trading calls on stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and option products (Series 7 license required)
  • Review and process correspondence including writing letters of indemnity to correct errors
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new staff members
  • Meet established individual performance expectations and operate in a team environment to contribute to the company and team goals
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of operational procedures, company policies, investment industry principles and confidently communicate this to callers
  • Learn and maintain a strong working knowledge of multiple systems, products and services.
  • Provide assistance, as needed, for processing areas
  • Participate in cross training and on special projects as assigned by the Investor Relations Manager

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Economics, high school diploma or GED required
  • FINRA Series 6 or Series 7 securities license required; Series 63 or 66 preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with listening skills
  • Positive, customer focused attitude with a desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Must be able to operate in a team environment and contribute to the company and team goals
  • Strong technical and analytical skills required             

 

Training

  • Representatives undergo a comprehensive paid training program to learn about the brokerage industry, NYLIFE Securities product & account offerings, and transaction processing. Coaching and feedback are provided to help you gain the necessary skills to be successful.

  

Hours:

  • This is a full-time position Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern.
