The Principal Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, is a core member of the NYL Cyber Threat Intelligence team, reporting to the Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence. The Principal Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for leading the team’s efforts to analyze cyber threats to NYL and develop high-quality products to support decision-making across all levels of the cybersecurity program. The Principal Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst also oversees the day-to-day activity of resources at external managed security services providers.



  • Intelligence Analysis: Lead efforts to analyze cyber threat and vulnerability information, employing analytic techniques to identify actionable, risk-based insights.
  • Intelligence Production & Dissemination: Lead efforts to produce and deliver high-quality intelligence products (reports, presentations, etc.) catered to specific stakeholder requirements.
  • Maintain Intelligence Knowledgebase: Utilize threat intelligence tools and external sources to maintain and continuously update relevant threat bulletins, threat actor profiles, campaign descriptions, scenarios, etc.
  • Oversee External Partnerships: Work with resources at external partners to deliver intelligence products and answer requests for information (RFIs) from internal stakeholders.
  • Metrics Reporting: Collect and report metrics related to intelligence analysis, production, and dissemination.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor peers and junior analysts in threat intelligence processes, written and verbal presentations, and other subjects.
  • Be A Team Player: Assist the NYL Cyber Threat Intelligence Team and their stakeholders in defending the company. This may include intelligence program planning, production of program documentation, threat model/scenario development, incident response playbook refinement, and other potential tasks.



  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, specifically supporting Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Threat Intelligence and/or Threat Hunting.
  • Clearly demonstrated progression of role responsibilities in previously held roles.
  • Hold or be willing to achieve certification in a relevant cybersecurity specialty (GIAC, OSCP, or similar).
  • Expert understanding of cyber threat intelligence concepts and processes.
  • Expert ability to analyze cyber threat activity and develop relevant technical and strategic recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of common frameworks used for threat intelligence, hunting, and incident response (Kill Chain, Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK).
  • Familiarity with cyber threats targeting the US financial sector (Nation States, Cybercrime, Hacktivists, etc.) and their associated Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Fundamental understanding of network and endpoint security concepts, architectures, and tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills , capable of influencing audience into taking action.
  • Ability & willingness to occasionally work extended or non-traditional hours in support of emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level university degree in STEM, Intelligence, or National Security subject area preferred but not required.
  • Advanced technical or leadership certification in cybersecurity subject matter (CISSP, CISM, or similar).
  • Relevant experience within law enforcement, intelligence community, military, managed security service providers, or US-based financial institutions.
  • Significant experience building and managing an intelligence knowledgebase containing reference material covering relevant threats, threat actors, campaigns, threat scenarios, etc.
  • Significant experience providing intelligence briefings and reports to senior/executive level business management.
