Product Manager, Paid Statutory

Role Overview:

 

Reporting to the Paid Statutory Product Manager, this position will support our paid statutory leave products. In this role, you will partner with the paid statutory product manager to understand program requirements, understand the impacts to New York Life Group Benefit Solutions and work with internal partners overseeing implementation of these products. You will work collaboratively with cross matrix partners to gather intelligence about the product, opportunities to inform product development and improve implementation. Working with the paid statutory product manager, you will leverage competitive insights, market knowledge and business acumen to support the vision for paid statutory products and services to maximize value of the product. You will work with marketing and distribution partners to assist in developing materials to support education and sales of the paid statutory products.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Build and maintain a level of technical and business knowledge about the assigned products and services supported; act as the SME resource and point of contact for internal partners.
  • Oversight of contract negotiations and management of ongoing performance of agreement; ongoing evaluation to the division and our clients based on established expectations and goals. Identification and facilitation of issue resolution for aligned relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with cross matrix partners to gather market intelligence about products, pricing, positioning, value propositions, channel conflicts/opportunities to inform development / implementation of winning strategies and tactics.
  • Leverage competitive insights, market knowledge, and business acumen to create a vision for their supported products and services as well as a multi-year plan (or roadmap) to achieve it, with the goal of maximizing the value created over the short and long-term.
  • Create, distribute, and educate sales teams (internal and external) with effective training, tools and materials that articulate the value proposition of assigned products and services; ongoing consultation as needed.
  • Develop B2B strategies in partnership with Marketing and internal partners to provide critical product information and consultation to clients and brokers.
  • Responsible for key initiatives and critical functions in support of the roadmap in support of profitable growth (including new sales, inforce growth, persistency, and participation results); lead cross-functional team(s) to deliver on the roadmap as they drive the work across the company end-to-end throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ability to leverage internal data and metrics to build their knowledge and drive effective business decisions.

 

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health management or related field; with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the group insurance industry.
  • Proven track record of developing strong relationships with matrix partners, distribution and vendors.
  • Ability to deliver results with little or no direction, resource key projects, and drive sound business decisions.
  • Open minded and creative – seeks ‘out of box’ solutions.
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams to ensure successful Outcomes.
  • Goal oriented and personally accountable; resourceful and self-directed.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment.
  • Knowledge of Group Employee Benefits required, absence management knowledge preferred.

Pay Transparency

Salary range: $95,000-$162,500 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
