Looking for a highly motivated Program Manager with well-rounded experience to join the New York Life Policy Administration System Transformation Delivery Office .  The role will be responsible for the day-to-day program management and delivery activities across multiple workstreams for our Insurance Solutions Policy Administration System (PAS) initiative. This will include execution of the platform modernization initiative which supports the life insurance value chain, from product and business configuration, through new business processing, policy issuance, transaction processing and claims. 

 

The highly talented individual will join the transformation delivery office to help drive the planning, implementation, and deployment of solutions and services key to the initiative. The role will be expected to provide consistent and strong leadership while establishing program and project priorities within workstreams, optimizing delivery of work, and clearly presenting goals, progress, and outcomes to senior stakeholders involved. 

 

The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to forge strong working relationships. Key to the role is the ability to earn trust, be action-oriented, navigate ambiguity and competing priorities, dive deep into issues, and deliver results. 

 

Responsibilities:
•    Demonstrate governance by ensuring that: (a) workstreams and initiatives are tracked and actively managed, (b) KPI's are agreed, measured, and tracked, (c) deliverables are properly prioritized and sequenced, (d) risks are addressed and status measured, and (e) deliveries are successful.
•    Drive completion and management of the requirements, user acceptance testing and implementation of sub projects within respective workstreams associated with overall Policy Administration System transformation 
•    Interact with Business stakeholders and Business Analysts, conduct analysis and document business processes, functions, capabilities, requirements, etc. and act as liaison with development team
•    Partner with workstream leads responsible for the process improvement, organizational effectiveness, people agenda, and change management as an output of the transformation
•    Assist the leadership team in the creation of business cases, cost benefit analysis and market assessments
•    Establish team and delivery structures to maximize productivity, efficiency, and collaboration
•    Create roadmaps and work plans that translate strategic goals into deliverables and action
•    Establish integrated plans and dependency views that enable strategic execution across respective workstreams
•    Interfaces with stakeholders/executives and management to manage delivery expectations, provide status updates on projects and discuss concerns. Is accountable for ensuring resolution of concerns/issues.
•    Forge partnerships with key platform relationships (internal/external) to drive business outcomes
•    Support and manage strategic and tactical / ad hoc project requests as required to support transformation delivery office
•    Mobilize and manage cross functional workstreams of internal and external individuals
•    Work directly with workstream leads across the organization to deliver on objectives, committed scope and timelines
•    Establish and manage risk framework and mitigation within workstreams
•    Track progress and benefits realization on initiatives in alignment with program governance requirements
•    Work closely with IT, Portfolio Manager, and sponsors to manage and track project financials
 

Required Skills / Qualification:
•    8+ years of experience in supporting a high-performance, cross-functional program 
•    5+ years of experience in transformational program delivery and management
•    Comprehensive awareness of the Life insurance business and customer service 
•    Experience working in a highly collaborative environment, proactively innovating solutions that support the goals and desired outcomes that provide business value
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader leadership team
•    Excellent written and oral communications skills, the ability to work within all levels of the organization, and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while providing a positive image
•    Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to think outside the box to find innovative and creative solutions to complex business problems
•    Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•    Strong organization and problem-solving skills including the ability to respond to Substantial large program budget experience accounting for changing needs and shifting priorities
•    Knowledge of QA testing, change management, and test case generation
•    Ability to drive strategy and execution of quality assurance and user acceptance testing

 

Education - Degrees/Certificates:
•    Master or bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline.
•    PMP/Agile certifications a plus
