Job Description / Role Summary:
Responsible to support daily Sales incentive compensation payment processing, which includes but not limited to; processing, researching, responding to Field Sales force regarding incentive payments, questions, issues, dispute resolution, etc. Responsible for responding to complex requests, solving non-routine problems using independent judgment and discretion, and ensuring client satisfaction with products and services. Completely understands compensation plans and provides guidance/training to Field Sales force regarding specific compensation programs, policies, procedures and workflow processes. Provides optimal customer service to Field Sales force and maintains service standards. This role will also provide support to the Producer Compensation team during peak season. Understanding the Producer Incentive Plans, providing assistance with validating and processing Producer Incentive Payments, and assistance with updating and loading the monthly payment file to the commission system for 5500 reporting purposes. This role requires working knowledge of various NYL/GBS sales products & services and multiple GBS business systems that support the sales and producer incentive compensation process. Role requires the candidate to work well with matrix partners in the sales field, underwriting, finance, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Sales and Producer Incentive Compensation Plans to effectively administer the plans.
- Ability to convey understanding and administration of the plans in a complete and professional manner.
- Assist internal partners with incentive compensation reporting requests, reconciliations, and audits timely and completely.
- Process compensation for the sales force and producers accurately and within specific deadlines.
- Maintain personnel, guarantees/draw requests timely and accurately.
- Proficient written and verbal communication via phone/email is paramount.
- Provide excellent customer service to the Sales distribution channel. Responsible for responding to complex requests, solving non-routine problems using independent judgment and discretion, and ensuring client satisfaction with products and service.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and resolve to satisfaction within tight timeframes. Facilitates and negotiates resolutions to final outcome.
- Analyze and resolve issues across multiple system applications (Bullseye, SalesForce, Image, Optymyze, etc.).
- Participate/facilitate in Field Training, as needed/requested.
- Maintain Quality Control Audit standards.
- Effectively administer sales incentive compensation plans, including but not limited to transaction inputting, plan documentation preparation, dissemination, communication, payment calculations and timely/accurate payroll uploads.
- Oversee or perform quality control activities to ensure the accurate and timely processing and payment of bi-monthly sales compensation payments and production/distribution of compensation statements.
- Consistently administer compensation plan exceptions, sales contests, non-cash awards, Presidents Club, etc.
- Manage to ensure customer service expectations are met, team metrics are achieved and issues/questions from sales/business are resolved completely.
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of sales compensation, financial analysis or related experience.
- Ability to work overtime during peak production cycles.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience (preferably Accounting, Economics, or Finance).
- Proven competence in mathematical/problem solving analysis.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent analytical and research skills, demonstrated ability to problem solve, results oriented with attention to detail, effectively work through issues with Sales partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to proactively communicate information efficiently and effectively in a timely manner.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task in a stressful environment and works well under pressure.
- Ability to keep sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment with multiple matrix partners.
- Must be an effective individual contributor - able to multi task and results focused.
- Strong system savvy skills (various systems and applications) desired.
- Strong knowledge of GBS products and services.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
Technical/Functional Skill Requirements:
- Systems Knowledge/Savvy – thoroughly understands, keeps up with current technology and can navigate through the various systems (administrative, compensation, workflow) and functional process required to properly identify, calculate and compensate incentive payments to our sales organization and producers. Optymyze is the sales compensation application and Producer Compensation is the Producer compensation application. Various internal sales, underwriting and operation applications utilized.
- Business Knowledge – understands and can speak to complex sales and producer compensation plans, process, procedures, financial impacts, financial risk and overall workflow management to delivery services and administrative functions for incentive compensation to our sales organization.
- Analytical Skills - ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions that make sense based on available information. Such skills include demonstration of the ability to apply logical thinking to gathering and analyzing information, designing and testing solutions to problems, and formulating plans.
