Role Overview:
This position is responsible for the evaluation, analysis, and ongoing monitoring of all new and updates compliance and regulatory changes in support of business operations, product solutions marketing activities, group product compliance, and form filing and annual certification compliance.
This role collaborates with Corporate Regulatory, Legal and other Group Benefit Solutions business areas ensuring operational state and federal compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance laws, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.
What You’ll Do:
• Monitor and analyze state and federal insurance regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
• Responsible for the research and documented analysis of state and federal laws which impact Group Life, Health and Supplemental products.
• Monitor and state compliance trends impacting Group Insurance products and provide analysis.
• Research and interpret regulatory requirements, providing guidance to internal teams on compliance matters.
• Assist in the development and implementation of company policies, procedures, and training programs to align with regulatory changes.
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings, license renewals, and compliance reports to relevant authorities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, underwriting, claims, and operations, to address compliance risks.
• Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential regulatory issues.
• Track and report on emerging industry trends, legislative updates, and regulatory developments.
• Maintain records and documentation of compliance activities, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and audits from state insurance departments and other agencies.
• Assist in developing and enhancing compliance monitoring tools and systems.
• Owns the evaluation and analysis of new and existing compliance and regulatory changes; communicates implications of regulatory mandates and changes in state laws impacting Group Benefit Solutions products and advise on applicability and impact to internal business area operations.
• Provides documented guidance and leads compliance communications related state filing, form management impacting business operations.
• Consult with GBS Legal team on state regulatory compliance issues impacting GBS business operations.
• Report and track state regulatory compliance positions related to state filing requirements related to Advertising, Form Delivery, and Rate filings.
What you'll bring:
• Undergraduate degree or higher, legal degree required
• Ten plus years of relevant Compliance or business experience in state filing and product form compliance for Group Life and Health products.
• Knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations, including NAIC model laws.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and regulatory tracking tools.
• Professional certification (e.g., AIRC, CPCU, or other compliance-related designations) is a plus.

Pay Transparency
Salary range: $75,300 - $105,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
