The Senior Associate - Implementation Coordinator is responsible for working directly with our career agents and clients to facilitate a smooth onboarding process during the employee benefits sales cycle. This remote position will support New York Life agents and our field-facing business partners (Business Development Consultants, Internal Sales Desk Consultants, and GO Management) to increase penetration and production of our Group Term and Group Disability products in the Small Business marketplace. The Implementation Coordinator will be recognized as an employee benefits subject matter expert and leverage this knowledge to simplify the implementation at several critical stages for both the agent and client. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of employee benefits, understand the importance of excellence in service, and have the capacity to identify and propose solutions for areas of improvement. This role will also monitor the sold case pipeline by working with our TPA to reduce cancellations and develop agent knowledge to properly service inforce groups.
As the Employee Benefits Implementation Coordinator, you will:
- Interact daily with agents and our field partners (Business Development Consultants, Internal Sales Desk Consultants, Agents, and Clients) in the completion of appropriate Employee Benefits group case paperwork for new business
- Develop and implement a system to monitor incoming sales, track progress throughout the implementation process and collect outstanding requirements
- Coordinate with TPAs, operations, and sales to equip agents with tools and collateral for voluntary enrollments (both electronic and paper)
- Work with agents for ongoing service needs including the annual enrollment and renewal process
- Identify and present trends to upper management for training opportunities and system enhancements
- Promote cross-sell of additional products to agents after the EB implementation process has concluded
- Assist with the development of training material related to the Employee Benefits Sales process
- Strong problem-solving abilities to assist agents with ad-hoc inforce business requests
Qualifications:
- Possesses strong relationship management skills with ability to create and maintain effective business relationships with business partners within the New York Life corporation
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills with high level of professionalism to interact with a wide variety of internal and external parties.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities based on financial impact and deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Ability to adapt function/business strategy plans and policies to address operational and service challenges
- Demonstrates ability to conceptualize and provide innovative thinking to develop solutions to improve the agent and client experience
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail in order to produce accurate results Possesses a strong work ethic and displays a sense of urgency for successful and timely processing of work
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to anticipate internal and external business challenges and make recommendations for process, product, and service improvements to enhance the agent experience.
Experience
- BA/BS degree required
- 3-5 years of related industry implementation/service experience required
- Extensive knowledge of the Employee Benefits sales cycle, product features, and implementation process
- Prior experience with clients through service or client onboarding
- Knowledge of NYL Career Agency System and the New York Life Worksite Distribution system.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and SalesForce
- Life and health license preferred
