Senior Associate, Registered Principal - Suitability

Role Overview:
The Suitability Team is responsible for the timely review of new and replacement sales and certain inforce transactions for our life insurance policies, annuities, and mutual funds to ensure they meet the company’s suitability and replacement guidelines. The Team also provides support to our agents in the Field by addressing inquiries pertaining to cases which are under suitability review, as well as general questions regarding our suitability program and parameters.
What You’ll Do:
- Using our administrative systems, the incumbent is tasked with reviewing annuity, life insurance, and mutual fund transactions and provide Principal determination as to whether cases meet our suitability guidelines.
- Monitors customer transactions and identifies any patterns requiring review by Corporate Compliance and assists in the resolution of cases that have been escalated by our agents in the Field for heightened review by a Registered Principal.
- Provide feedback to team representatives based on their suitability recommendations and
correspondence composition. Provide coaching on potential improvement opportunities.
- Based on observed performance trends, recommend training opportunities to team management.
- Create and maintain Life & Annuity and NYLSEC procedures.
- Train other members of the team on new suitability processes and rule changes.
- Advance team objectives by helping to lead projects that improve suitability workflow, compliance and/or communications with the Field. Relevant projects could include constructing testing requirements to satisfy new rules and regulations, drafting Field News publications to remind our agents of important aspects of our suitability program, and evaluating our processes in order to identify opportunities to improve our controls.
- Conduct quality control reviews and call monitoring to strengthen the team's internal control processes and ensure compliance with regulatory compliance.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the securities industry, with a background in Life, Annuity, and Mutual Funds preferred.
- FINRA Series 6 and 26 required; Series 7 and 24 preferred.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $62,500 - $100,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
