Description

Institutional Annuities’ Guaranteed Products (GP) business is in the spread lending business and focuses on institutional fixed income investors (both qualified and non-qualified) seeking low risk, high quality solution. GP is seeking an experienced associate for its Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) valuation team. The primary responsibilities include calculating quarterly reserves for various valuation bases and performing mortality gain/loss analysis. This role will also support the implementation of new PRT cases, which involves establishing the initial Prophet model, reconciliation, and premium adjustment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support modeling, calculations and analysis of statutory, tax and management statutory reserves for single premium payout group annuities
  • Setup new business cases (Pension Risk Transfer) in Prophet valuation model
  • Support internal and external audits regarding reserve calculations, reporting and controls.
  • Produce quarterly reserve reporting and supporting controls files
  • Correspond with pricing, accounting, administration, finance, controllers, Prophet developers, and IT to implement reserve calculations for new products and reserve methodologies.
  • The position will fully work-at-home, but may be required to come to the New York Home Office on a limited basis for meetings and other events when needed 

 

Qualifications 

  • 3 - 5 years of experience

  • Bachelor degree preferably in quantitative or finance fields
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and technical skills.
  • Experience with Prophet or similar actuarial software a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel/Access and experience with programming applications helpful.
  • Knowledge of individual or group annuity products a plus.
  • Passage of Society of Actuaries Exams a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Good time-management and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills – both written and oral.
