NYLIFE Securities LLC is registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) as a broker-dealer, a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company. As part of New York Life’s Wealth Management division, NYLIFE Securities has a long history and passion for career development, innovation, collaboration, and diversity, equity and inclusion. We want employees to feel proud about being part of a company that is committed to doing the right thing. Through various resources and programs, you can grow your career while developing personally and professionally.

NYLIFE Securities provides brokerage services to retail investors through more than 6,000 affiliated Registered Representatives (RRs). NYLIFE Securities RRs offer investment products to meet a broad set of investor needs, including:

  • Our proprietary variable annuity and variance insurance products
  • Mutual funds from several industry leading fund families including Mainstay
  • Retirement and 529 plans
  • Full-service brokerage accounts (stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds) with cash management features

Many of the RRs are affiliated investment advisor representatives (IARs) registered with Eagle Strategies LLC. These IARs provide comprehensive investment advisory and financial planning capabilities. Through our "protection first" planning philosophy and backed by solutions that leverage New York Life’s financial strength and mutuality, our advisors can tailor a plan to help their clients reach their long-term goals and withstand unforeseen fluctuations.

We believe the best financial solutions are built when an advisor has a thorough understanding of their clients’ current financial picture and their short- and long-term goals. Our advisors assess their clients’ needs and identify appropriate solutions that put their clients on a path toward achieving their financial dreams and aspirations over the client's lifetime – from wealth-building to retirement to legacy.

Opportunity

The Senior Associate will leverage a deep understanding of brokerage, mutual fund, variable annuity, variable universal life, and managed accounts solutions to provide guidance to our RRs and IARs on the use of our Investment Proposal tool. An investment proposal helps the RR or IAR support a recommended investment or portfolio strategy to a client or prospect. After entering the client's goals and other assumptions, the tool generates an illustrative portfolio and related data, which the RR or IAR reviews with the client.
The Senior Associate will also support the RRs and IARs to better understand the product solutions available to their clients and assist with the evaluation of prospective rollovers of qualified plan assets while ensuring New York Life's compliance with regulatory obligations.
Based on the team's engagement with RRs and IARs, the Senior Associate will also be responsible for gathering insights and making recommendations to the Team Lead which will inform systems enhancements and development of reference material for the field and our training curriculum.
This role provides a rare opportunity to learn the inner workings of the wealth management division of a 176-year old, Fortune 100 company. During your career, you can complete internal and external courses and earn industry licenses and designations that will, over time, enable you to move to roles with increasing responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Economics.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Investments Proposals, portfolio analysis software, or similar experience.
  • Strong communication and service acumen.
  • Understanding of regulatory landscape and evolving regulatory obligations.
  • Extensive knowledge of investment solutions including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, variable annuities, and variable life products.
