Senior Associate - Technology Analyst
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per quarter
The Technology Analyst is a strategic contributor responsible for supporting technology planning, financial analysis, and operational effectiveness within the Product & Platform Management function. This role connects data insights with business strategy to enable informed decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall organizational performance at New York Life.
What You'll Do:
Data Management & Governance
• Maintain and manage initiative and service data within Apptio and JIRA, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Partner with data owners and stakeholders to validate, reconcile, and continuously improve data quality.
• Support data governance practices by enforcing standards, controls, and documentation.
Time Tracking & Compliance
• Administer and monitor timesheet processes to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, providing guidance to stakeholders as needed.
• Generate reports and insights to support audit readiness and operational transparency.
Procurement & Financial Operations
• Initiate and track procurement requests, ensuring alignment with business needs, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with finance and vendor management teams to ensure timely processing and delivery.
• Review accruals, validate financial data, and support periodic financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain IT Finance data extracts and reporting artifacts.
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
• Contribute to capacity planning and resource modeling activities.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Provide insights to support portfolio prioritization and investment decisions.
What You'll Bring
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in technology operations, financial analysis, or product/platform management support.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with tools such as Apptio, JIRA, Excel, and financial reporting systems.
• Understanding of IT financial management, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
• Knowledge of governance, compliance, and audit practices within a technology environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in financial services or insurance industry.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and product operating models.
• Exposure to IT portfolio management and cost optimization initiatives.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $81,000-$115,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
