Position Summary

Are you passionate about the intersection between data-driven insights, impactful business strategy and solving complex challenges? The Strategic Insights team partners with business and enterprise leaders to deliver analytical recommendations to aid in the decision-making process. We help illuminate areas of opportunities to drive incremental value across the Foundational Insurance Business. Our team works on a wide variety of compelling high impact projects that spans marketing, product, sales, and more. As a member of the Strategic Insights team, you will be a part of a group of highly skilled analytics professionals, with a passion for data and insights.


The CVP, Business Analyst will be a senior member of the Strategic Insights team that will provide horizontal support across both strategic analytics and business intelligence.  This role will be integrated into a well-established innovative team of collaborative analysts engaged on the strategies of the organization. You will have the opportunity to work closely with leadership to workshop and document the insights projects needed to assist business strategies. This individual will have experience with collecting business requirements and working with data & analytics teams.  



  • Partner with internal customers to understand their initiatives, gather requirements, and document action items for the insights teams to execute
  • Proficient with data analysis and profiling and able to understand various data models, create or modify data dictionaries and provide accurate lineage and mapping to aid engineering teams
  • Present status updates to senior audiences in a professional manner
  • Facilitate high level design discussions with various stakeholders
  • Acts as a liaison with various data and analytics teams across NYL


Experience/ Qualifications:

  • Bachelors, Masters preferred
  • 6+ years of work experience
  • Proven experience in performing business and data analysis
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills able to effectively interact and influence a diverse set of business and technical stakeholders
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present ideas both in writing and verbally to all levels
  • Knowledge of SQL and visualization tools
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, data warehouse concepts and ETL, ELT design
  • Proficient with analytics tools such as Excel, Python, Tableau and with a focus on data manipulation and analysis
  • Professional, positive demeanor

Salary range: $132,500-$197,500 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
