Position Summary

The Retail Life/IDI/LTC Vendor Management Team directly supports the Underwriting teams and is responsible for managing the third-party vendors with whom we engage to secure underwriting requirements. The team oversees vendor performance to ensure timely and accurate securing of vital information as well as an exceptional customer experience for our clients, agents and underwriters. They are also responsible for payment and monitoring of expenses associated with underwriting new applications. 

 

This Senior Associate role will be critical in supporting the team’s oversight of vendor performance. This role will be responsible for owning various projects and initiatives spanning across the Retail Life, IDI, and LTC lines of business. 

 

The Senior Associate requires a self-starter who is comfortable with analyzing complex data, identifying/implementing solutions to problems, and driving process improvements.  The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can work under limited supervision. The candidate should possess a continuous process improvement mindset with an ability to identify problems and propose/implement solutions. In addition, the candidate should have experience delivering high caliber service to internal and external stakeholders and customers.  Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required, and strong Tableau or other data visualization skills are necessary.  Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.   Proven experience prioritizing several concurrent projects and initiatives.  Critical thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration will be important to the success in this role.

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the execution of the Performance Section of the Vendor Governance Program for all vendors and all lines of business -
  • Compile, generate, and provide analysis of vendor performance metrics
  • Develop Tableau dashboards to assist in the monitoring of various performance metrics to measure against SLAs and other contract requirements
  • SLA monitoring, reporting, analyzing
  • Conduct ongoing QA Audits of vendor services and drive improvements in the team’s audit approach
  • Address vendor complaints and field inquiries
  • Ownership and execution of various initiatives and projects 
  • Support other team members by providing guidance and informal leadership on cooperative projects.
  • Assist leadership with contract management.
  • Collaborate with Technology to document and assist in remediation of service tickets.
  • Proactively identify and propose solutions for operational issues.

 

Experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience effectively managing multiple commitments and/or projects
  • Strong critical thinking, data analysis, problem-solving and collaboration skills
  • Vendor Management experience is preferred
  • General knowledge of Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Long-Term Care insurance is preferred
