The NYL Direct IT team is driving AI technology enablement by integrating advanced tools and intelligent agents into core business processes. This work focuses on modernizing enterprise data and platforms to ensure content is accessible, well-organized, and ready to support AI-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, innovation, and decision-making across the organization.
Role Overview:
As an AI Enablement Intern on the NYL Direct IT team, you will support initiatives that prepare enterprise data and content for AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. You will gain hands-on experience working with modern collaboration platforms, AI-enabled workflows, and cross-functional teams that are transforming how work gets done at New York Life Direct.
This role offers exposure to real-world AI implementation efforts and enterprise data modernization, providing valuable experience at the intersection of technology, data, and business operations.
What You’ll Do:
During the internship, you will:

Support Shared Drive Migration to SharePoint/OneDrive
Assist with migrating shared drives to Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive, organizing and structuring content to improve accessibility and readiness for AI tools and Copilot agents. -
AI Enablement Support
Partner with cross-functional teams to help deliver AI agents that support business processes and workflows. -
Support Development of AI Tools and Agents
Collaborate with the AI Transformation team to test, refine, and improve Copilot and ChatGPT agents. -
Data Organization & Readiness
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure data is well-organized and prepared for AI integration across platforms.
What You’ll Learn

A foundational understanding of AI concepts and tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) and how they are applied in an enterprise environment

Experience modernizing enterprise data and preparing content for AI-driven solutions

Hands-on exposure to Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint and OneDrive

Insight into how AI transforms business processes, workflows, and productivity at scale
What You’ll Bring

Interest in AI, data, technology enablement, or digital transformation

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Comfort working with data, files, and structured content

Proficiency (or interest in building proficiency) in Microsoft 365 tools, especially SharePoint and OneDrive

Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly
Required Skills:
- A rising Junior or Senior currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited 4-year college or university

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $21/hr
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
