Senior Associate, Discovery Lead
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
Role Overview:
As a Senior Associate - Discovery Lead, you will support/partner with business and technology leaders to identify opportunities, define requirements, and drive the delivery of solutions that advance New York Life’s business objectives and strategic goals. You’ll apply analytical thinking and collaboration skills to help translate complex business challenges into actionable plans, ensuring alignment between business objectives and IT strategy while promoting collaboration across teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Engage with business partners and technical experts to understand priorities, scope impacts, and assess required effort for change initiatives
- Collaborate with Agile teams, architects, and business workstreams to deliver high-quality analysis and solutions
- Facilitate structured interviews, workshops, and documentation efforts to capture requirements, assumptions, and business rules
- Develop workflow diagrams, perform gap analyses, and help evaluate options based on cost, feasibility, and alignment with standards
- Partner with architecture and development teams to evaluate alternative technical approaches and align with enterprise standards
- Present findings and recommendations to business and technical stakeholders in a clear, persuasive manner
- Work closely with solution analysts, developers, and product owners to ensure business needs are met

Required Skills:
- Minimum of 6 years of business or solution analysis experience in complex environments
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to build trust across levels
- Proven ability to conceptualize and design high-level models and business capabilities
- Demonstrated familiarity across multiple technology domains including relational databases, web services, APIs, and SaaS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
- Experience in Agile environments and applying architectural principles to business solutions
- Understanding of technical concepts such as APIs, SaaS, and databases (basic level)
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of life insurance applications and ACORD standards
- Familiarity with XML, JSON, and web service–oriented architectures
- Experience with MuleSoft or similar integration platforms
- Background in project management and SQL query writing
- Intermediate SQL or data querying and data-mapping experience
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $88,000-$125,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
