New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States.  Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales.  Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations. 

 

Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers.  The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.

 

This position can be located in White Plains, NY or New York, NY

 

This position oversees the day-to-day management of the Company’s three Field Advisory Groups - the Agent’s Advisory Council (AAC), the Managing Partners Advisory Council (MPAC) and the Advisory Board of Directors (ABD).  The ideal candidate will facilitate a collaborative process working with the leadership of each group and their Home Office business partners in the various departments and supervise a suggestion management process, which includes suitability review, assignments of suggestions to business areas, quality control evaluation of responses, communication, tracking, monitoring, follow-up, analysis and reporting.  Travel to offsite venues and extended stays in NYC required approximately eight times annually. 

 

Role Overview

  • Coordination and execution of four on site meetings, two virtual meetings and monthly Zoom sessions. This includes working closely with senior leaders across the Company to help identify both tactical and strategic agenda topics that help drive New York Life’s core objectives
  • Attend off-site Agency meetings to help oversee platform presentation delivery of key messages (i.e., AAC and MPAC Presidents' speeches)
  • Oversee Advisory Groups election related responsibilities and events
  • Manage on boarding of all elected Advisory Group members and business area liaisons
  • Prepare post-meeting reports/summaries that document outcomes and deliverables from meetings
  • Work with outside vendors and internal communications channels to promote Advisory Group activities                                   
  • Oversee the technology transition of the database to a new, cohesive platform

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Communications, Business)
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • In-depth understanding of NYL's products and services and Agency and Foundational Business strategic objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work with and communicate to all levels of management both internally and with the Field
  • Highly proficient with MS Office 0365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio), Acrobat Pro, Zoom familiarity (emphasis on breakout rooms), as well as Lotus Notes applications (customized databases). SharePoint experience a plus. Additional technical acumen is preferred
  • Ability to perform quality assurance on a variety of platforms
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills are a must
