New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States.  Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales.  Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations. 

 

Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers.  The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.

 

General Profile:  Our team’s focus is to support New York Life’s field managers with tools to recruit successful financial advisors. This role requires an appreciation for the impact our financial advisors have in their local communities, and a sense of urgency that accompanies supporting a results-driven, sales organization.

 

Lead Generation Strategy Management: Develop lead generation strategies and processes to provide recruiters with a consistent volume of name flow.

  • Plan and execute multi-channel corporate recruiting campaigns
  • Build and execute a strategy to grow College Agent Intern Program and Agent Referral Program into high-impact lead generation sources
  • Manage 3rd party recruiting vendor relationships
  • Develop tactical recruiting plans for high-potential, under-developed market segments i.e.: Student Athletes, Veterans, etc.
  • Drive performance of campaigns, programs and partnerships through on-going data analysis to measure results and refine strategy and process
  • Lead cross-functional planning meetings to ensure alignment and execution
  • Operationalize end-to-end processes to create efficiencies, transparency and scalability

 

 

Data Analysis and Reporting: Provide data analysis reports (routine and ad hoc) for Target Markets operating units on recruiting, sales and productivity. 

  • Assess data to identify trends and proactively recommend shifts in strategy
  • Develop presentations and provide regular updates to Senior Leadership Team

 

 

Qualifications and Key Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience analyzing data and generating reports with high-level of proficiency using Excel and Access
  • Understands key business drivers related to recruiting, sales and retention.  
  • Able to interpret opportunities and challenges and apply learnings to recruiting strategies
  • Solutions focused with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills, as position will engage Senior Leadership and Field Management
  • Skilled at leading cross-functional projects, processes and vendor management
  • Experience working within the Life Insurance / Financial Service industry preferred
