Our new GuideMe platform is the digital planning tool that helps our agents bring this approach to life. It’s designed to modernize our agent case design and presentation abilities in a way that meets the evolving expectations of modern consumers.

 

The platform MVP allows new agents to facilitate life protection-focused client conversations through a simplified, digital process. Current capabilities include a module to position New York Life and the agent, a detailed fact finder / discovery process, and a life layer solution.

 

The early field results and feedback on GuideMe have been very positive. GuideMe reduces case design steps and training needs, keeps appointments on track, and helps build agent confidence by providing guardrails for a conversational appointment flow. We’re seeing early evidence that agents who use GuideMe are more effective as a result.

 

We have ambitious plans for GuideMe in 2022 and beyond. Next up is the first version of an accumulation-focused module to GuideMe. And, we have a robust roadmap for the future, including experiences that cover an expanded number of New York Life products (in both protection and accumulation) and cater to a wider range of increasingly sophisticated agent practices.

 

As GuideMe grows in scale and complexity, we’re looking to add a Senior Program Manager to the team who can lead the coordination of multiple projects that are ongoing simultaneously across many areas of our business, including digital, user experience, product, technology, analytics, change management, and training.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning and execution of critical cross-functional initiatives linked to the overall GuideMe program
  • Create project plans, develop, and execute strategies for internal coordination, including brainstorming events, focus groups, field visits, update meetings, steering committees
  • Assemble and oversee an ongoing working group of Agents to provide input and feedback on our strategy and designs for GuideMe, including regular in-person working sessions
  • Collaborate closely with key business partners across various organizations within New York Life – including digital, user experience, product, technology, analytics, change management, and field training – to ensure the timely delivery of all program milestones and deliverables
  • Identify and resolves problems and removes obstacles to timely and high-quality project milestone completion
  • Organize a highly effective cross-functional working teams with key work streams staffed by team members from related functional areas
  • Partner with other project managers on the use of standardized tools to improve project delivery
  • Manage project governance, and effectively communicate project status to senior management on a regular basis
  • Create biweekly program RAG status reports and distribute to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Create effective and visually appealing presentation materials for internal stakeholders, field influencers, and NYL leadership
  • Work with compliance and legal stakeholders to ensure that the GuideMe platform satisfies regulatory and legal requirements
  • Help to oversee and influence the change management and field adoption strategies pertaining to the release of key functionality
  • Help to collect, organize, and analyze feedback received after core functionality is released to the field
  • Assist with efforts to collect, synthesize, and interpret competitive research
  • Assist with efforts to recruit high-performing personnel for roles within the program team

 

 

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, with strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional team in the realization of project goals and time-bound deliverables
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and multi-task essential; must be very organized and have excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including very good PowerPoint skills and the ability to communicate effectively with senior management (presentations, emails, and discussions)
  • Ability to organize complex processes, handle multiple tasks, and deal with shifting priorities, all within demanding time schedules
  • Excellent interpersonal and business partnering skills, with the ability to earn trust of peers and collaborate effectively on cross-functional assignments that influence decision-making
  • Outstanding judgment, critical thinking, and time management skills
  • Strong leadership skills and executive presence

 

Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience with program management, preferably in a digital function or with broad exposure to digital initiatives.
  • BS/BA, PMP preferred 
  • Experience effectively motivating and coordinating cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
