New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States. Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales. Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations.
Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers. The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Administrative Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support a senior leader(s) with various administrative responsibilities.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide telephone coverage, assisting the caller or taking messages for routing to the appropriate individual
• Manage emails and files for recordkeeping
• Manage calendars
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, reserve rooms, forward meeting notices, arrange conference calls or video conferences, order meals, arrange dinners, and prepare meeting materials
• Reconciles travel expenses as well as process other expenses
What You’ll Bring:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Package – Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access a plus
• Excellent recordkeeping
• Excellent file management - creation, maintenance, and disposition
• Coordinates all travel and expenses
• Timely and accurate expense management
• Directs inquiries and follow ups with the appropriate parties to assure timely and thorough resolution
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or work experience
• Previous experience in Financial Services is required
• Familiar with the infrastructure of Agency and can route inquiries to the right place quickly within and outside of the division
• Knows Company policies and procedures and can resolve routine inquiries for staff quickly and correctly
• Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency
• Possesses a clear understanding of priorities
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Must be discreet in handling confidential information
• Must be a team player
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $72,500-$107,500
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
