New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States.  Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales.  Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations. 

 

Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers.  The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.

 

Role Overview:

 

Event's & Seminars is one key prospecting strategy to support our agents in their work with clients. The role's main responsibility is to drive sales lead generation and source leads for our agents through Events and Seminar including digital & social media strategies. The role owns driving the prospecting strategy, developing programs, initiatives as well as building support tools, resources and communication materials by means of leveraging Events & Seminars for lead generation, online as well offline. The role also works closely with the lead conversion team to make sure that generated leads are followed by approaching & nurturing initiatives as well as embedded in CRM efforts. In addition, this role also works closely with marketing to ensure agents are provided with warm consumer leads from Events & Seminars.

The role also involves supporting the AARP Agent Program as a critical element to NYL's overall relationship with AARP which, in its entirety, is worth in excess of $1.4B in revenue to the company.  Without the AARP Agent Program, NYL would not be able to maintain its position as the exclusive provider of life and annuity products to AARP members. This role also owns key facets of project management, marketing support, data management as well as process management.

 

Role Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for consumer sourcing initiatives, tools & resources and lead generation from Events & Seminars programs including digital/social media strategies to drive lead generation
2. Primary contact for the insurance offices with questions, information requests and issues with Events & Seminars prospecting
3. Point of contact for other prospecting teams (approaching & nurturing group, training support group, project management group) as well as marketing for Events & Seminars prospecting questions, information and other requests
4. Manage empowerment of the field to guide agents to secure prospects through warm markets from Events & Seminars
5. Responsible for developing, building and deploying turnkey resources to increase lead generation from Events & Seminars including digital/social media prospecting
6. Owns costs and benefits associated with lead generation efforts and prioritization from Events & Seminars
7. Measure impact of Events & Seminars initiatives and programs on production and retention
8. Manage Event & Seminar support for A20 Agents (AARP)
9. Support AARP Agent Program point of contact (incl. email box) for information requests and issues needing resolution
10. Support AARP Agent Program reporting and data requests, A20 certification and recertification process, AARP Marketing Oversight Committee, as well as monthly AARP newsletter
