New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States.  Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales.  Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations. 

 

Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers.  The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.

 

Role Overview

 

The Agency Communications Digital Team sends a high volume of targeted emails to our field force of ~12,000 agents and 600 field managers. We are currently planning a phased transition from the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) email platform to Adobe Campaign for some email campaigns, as we seek to deliver increasingly personalized communications using a data-driven, strategic campaign methodology across all our communications channels.

 

The Senior Digital Communications Lead is responsible for:

  • Execution of email campaign communications in partnership with internal business units and communication planners via Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Lead the transition of some email communications to Adobe Campaign.
  • Develop email templates and workflows for branded communications with dynamic data mapping in Adobe Campaign.
  • Deliver analytics and insights to communication planners for email campaign.
  • Create audience segments within Adobe Campaign for targeted and personalized campaigns.
  • Partner with communications planners and business areas on the design of targeted communications campaigns.
  • Publish emails on tight deadlines with precision for home office to field campaigns.
  • Development and adherence to best practices.
  • Advance platform capabilities through partnership with technology vendor and IT department using Agile project methodology.
  • Ensure that customer projects and deliverables are compliant with corporate standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Business level knowledge of Adobe Campaign Classic and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This includes template creation, data management, data queries, analytics and workflow development. 
  • Some experience in HTML, content management, SQL, Adobe Creative Suite, analytics are helpful.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, communication and project management skills are all pluses.
