New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States. Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales. Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations.
Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers. The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.
Role Overview
- Manage, re-configure, improve and maintain NYL eLearning and virtual learning technologies using advanced technical knowledge of back-end processes, connections, and systems integrations
- Independently research learning trends, and recommend and advocate for new virtual learning platforms and emerging technologies (i.e., Virtual reality, augmented reality, gamification, etc.)
- Play a key role in collecting and interpreting virtual learning feedback and productivity data using sophisticated analytical thought and tools to recommend updates and enhancements to learning technologies, methodologies, and processes
- Monitor team processes, recommend, and implement best practices to automate or streamline workflows and foster efficiency
- Independently manage and administer virtual classroom platform and vendor relationships
- Manage virtual learning vendor relationships
- Research and recommend virtual classroom implementation best practices and develop and document support procedures
- Manage virtual classroom scheduling
- Research and create virtual learning system technical requirements
- Draft virtual learning system documentation
- Coordinate and orchestrate systems maintenance and upgrades
- Provide eLearning and virtual learning support to different segments of NYL agents as well as Development Manager population
- Monitor performance of virtual classrooms, report on activity, monitor, communicate, and analyze virtual classroom feedback and make recommendations for improvements
- Create and deploy new virtual classrooms using advanced knowledge of virtual learning practices
- Schedules, produces, and communicates analytics for NYLIC U Virtual Classrooms and webinars
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in human resources, information technology, sciences or a related field or demonstrate equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work simultaneous projects, using project management principles, practices and skills to identify, track and estimate duration of project tasks
- Robust working knowledge of learning management systems and virtual learning technologies, and their principles of operation (Docebo, Adobe Connect, Zoom experience preferred)
- Ability to create processes, guidelines and similar documentation to support system development and use
- Ability to develop and deliver training materials and training
- Understanding of Virtual Classroom user experience, especially as it pertains to adult learning and remote virtual learning experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to rearrange priorities to meet business needs
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Solid knowledge of adult learning principles and education administration processes
- Must be highly organized with demonstrated ability to work independently, multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Basic graphic design skills
- Excellent English language skills, written and spoken
- Systems experience with Learning Management System (LMS) software systems, specifically with SuccessFactors experience preferred
- Experience with Adobe Connect and webinar platforms and best practices
- Software experience including Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud, Video and Audio editing software

Salary range: $90,000-$135,000
