Our commitment to veterans

At New York Life we have an unwavering dedication to hiring and supporting our nation's veterans and military spouses. Through our partnerships with veterans’ organizations and the NYL Vets employee resource group, we are able to recognize and identify the unique experiences and skill sets that veterans bring to the table, and we work to leverage all available resources to ensure they feel like valued members of our professional community.  We welcome the qualities of leadership, collaboration, and discipline that veterans bring to the workplace. By offering opportunities to veterans and military spouses we continue to foster an inclusive culture and take another step in living up to our everyday standard to "Be Good at Life."

New York Life sponsors seven Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that are open to all employee allies to join. Our ERGs help the company to foster an environment in which differences and unique perspectives are encouraged and valued. As of December 31, 2022, more than 3,500 of our employees were members of at least one ERG.

The purpose of NYL-VETS is to provide mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities for New York Life employees who are veterans and those who support our armed forces. The NYL-VETS ERG also assists New York Life in becoming a magnet for talented individuals with prior military service.
