Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
Role Overview:
The Actuarial Services role will support pricing initiatives for group insurance products within the GBS business unit. This position will offer experience and exposure to actuarial work and provide support to the actuarial function, focusing on pricing methodologies, rate development, and analysis. The role involves collaboration with underwriting and broader finance teams to deliver competitive and profitable pricing solutions.

What You'll Do:
• Develop and maintain pricing models for group insurance products, ensuring alignment with NYL standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze experience data and trends to support rate development and assumption setting.
• Prepare pricing exhibits and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with underwriting, product, finance, and other actuarial colleagues to deliver competitive and profitable pricing solutions.
• Provide ad hoc case-level pricing support to underwriting
• Assist in implementing updates to pricing tools and processes based on emerging market trends and actuarial best practices.
• Support ad hoc projects related to pricing strategy and profitability analysis.

What You'll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Completion of at least 1 actuarial exam required; passing of 2 exams preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated progress toward ASA designation.
• Group insurance background preferable.
• Interest in pricing, underwriting, and product development within group insurance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $64,500-$90,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
