Agency Insights Senior Analyst

Overview
Join New York Life’s Agency Insights and Analytics team, where data drives growth, performance, and strategic decision-making. We're seeking a detail-oriented and business-savvy Senior Analyst to design, develop, and deliver data and insights that inform agency sales, recruiting strategies, campaign performance, and executive decision support.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across Agency, Foundational Business Value Streams, and Foundational Business Finance to develop data frameworks, construct business intelligence capabilities, conduct deep-dive analyses, and elevate and optimize our analytics capabilities. Your work will support performance optimization, incentive planning, and sales growth initiatives across the agency channel.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring reports and dashboards that track Agency KPIs (sales, recruiting, retention, campaign results, etc.)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business questions into actionable data, analytics, and reporting frameworks.
- Conduct deep-dive and ad hoc analyses to uncover trends, performance drivers, and opportunities.
- Communicate insights through executive-ready presentations, visualizations, and written summaries.
- Partner with AI&D on enterprise-level data initiatives (e.g., FMIS, PDM, Metrics Marketplace, PRISM).
- Evaluate and implement new data and analytics tools (e.g., dbt, github, Data Bricks, Streamlit).
- Continuously assess and improve data processes for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Partner broadly across NYL’s analytics community to identify synergies and share best practices.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel; experience with Python or R is a plus.
- Proven experience building dashboards and visualizations using Tableau or similar BI tools.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Experience working with large, complex data sets from multiple sources.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of insurance, financial services, or distribution analytics.
- Experience developing data models using dbt.
- Familiarity with AWS data tools (e.g., Aurora, Redshift, S3).
- Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like Jira and Confluence.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $85,000-$145,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
