Supplier Manager, Senior Associate
Location Designation: Hybrid - 1 day per quarter
This role within the Supplier Management team is responsible for supporting best practices for New York Life’s Supplier Management program by providing the following:
What You’ll Do:
• Collaborate on and support the continuous improvement of a best-in-class supplier management program
• Support strategic program direction set by leadership team for both short and long term goals.
• Help manage, document and mature supplier management from an end-to-end perspective, including governance, process & procedures and execution of program activities.
• Support all aspects of supplier campaigns by soliciting supplier profile data
• Conduct performance management surveys and associated reporting.
• Develop understanding of and support for related areas such as NYL third party risk management, sourcing and contracts processes and program requirements.
• Work closely with business areas, vendor governance leads and other stakeholders across NYL on supplier relationships and performance related matters to help identify and mitigate issues and drive optimal supplier services and value to NYL, throughout the lifecycle
• Provide insight and reporting on supplier relationship and performance related matters; help develop and maintain enterprise level SLA reporting and requirements
• Work with business areas to help close any gaps in supplier oversight requirements
• Provide training on vendor management across the NYL enterprise
• Use supplier management applications to execute the end-to-end Supplier Management program
• Support more junior staff in process development and working through workflow backlog
• Own workflow process tracking and reporting
What you’ll Bring:
• 3-5+ years of relevant industry experience (including insurance, banking or financial industry background)
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or comparable advanced degree preferred
• At least 3 years specifically in a supplier management role (risk and/or performance management)
• Knowledge of contract management & contracting principals as they relate to supplier management a plus
• Exceptional collaboration, interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to build relationships internally within the organization, as well as with suppliers as needed
• Ability to work independently and closely collaborate with business peers and stakeholders on current and future state objectives
• Strong & effective communication skills, both written and oral; ability to present to senior leaders, peers, and external partners in a clear and consistent manner, fostering dialogue and helping to drive decisions
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Knowledge of industry standard supplier management platforms strongly preferred
• Ability to learn to use new system(s) to support basic functions of the role
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $77,500-$132,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
