Senior Associate - Senior SAP Basis and Security Admin

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per month

New York Life is seeking a strong Basis and Security individual who can keep our Success Factors Employee Central Payroll environment running smoothly. We are looking for a self-starter who can install SAP software, configure Basis transactions, maintain our SAP Business Technology Platform, and understand our system landscape to make recommendations on important infrastructure updates to our SAP environment and integrations across our systems.  The individual would need to be able to work well independently and collaborate well with other technical teams to trouble shoot complex technical issues. Additional responsibilities will be responsible for designing, developing, and administering application security.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP cloud environment (development, QA, and production)
  • Management of the SAP environment including configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis including the SAP transport management system.
  • Collaborate to resolve SAP transport issues as well as schedule, monitor and manage background jobs.
  • SAP software installation, SAP software/kernel upgrades, troubleshooting, configuring, monitoring, tuning, client copies, system refreshes, transport management, printer/spool administration, batch job administration, security administration, single sign-on, and SAP Service Marketplace/OSS Administration
  • Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability, and performance of each SAP instance.
  • Work with SAP to apply and migrate SAP Support packs and other software patching and upgrades.
  • Work with SAP to Handle System refreshes, updating Basis configuration, including RFC connections and distribution Models.
  • Troubleshoot application issues by collaborating with others at NYL (database/ network teams) as needed. Escalate issues to SAP when necessary.
  • Support integrations across SAP systems, ECP to Success Factors, SAP Finance System and BSI.
  • Support SNC router connection to SAP and Linux server for file archiving.
  • Manage SAP users, authorizations, and create profiles.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances.
  • Provide after-hours/on-call support for critical implementations/upgrades.
  • Responsible for administering connectivity, usage analysis and security surrounding the Business Technology Platform (BTP) systems, services and tenants.
  • Manage and Maintain the SAP BTP platform, utilizing the SAP BTP Cockpit and other tools to ensure that the platform is running smoothly and securely.
  • Responsible for administering connectivity, usage analysis and security surrounding the Business Technology Platform.
  • Managing and Monitoring SAP BTP applications, understanding the architecture of the SAP cloud platform and using administrative tools and services.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Three to five years related work experience as Basis Admin with Security.
  • Three years’ experience as a BTP Administrator.
  • Extensive BTP exposure
  • SAP Success Factors Employee Central Payroll experience.
  • Ability to Understand Business and IT Requirements in order to design solution architecture and usage of the various SAP, SuccessFactors, HANA, BASIS, and other industry best practice toolsets.
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager / Charm and experience in full life-cycle implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing technical options and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with various people and organizations in an effort to develop win/ win results.
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide clear, concise communication to Management, Basis team members, and others.
  • Experience with Key basis configuration including RFC connections and modifying distribution models.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows servers.
  • Understanding of Solution architecture and connections from ECP to Success factors, BSI, and other SAP systems.
  • Hands on experience creating Structural Authorizations and assigning security roles.
  • Excellent communications skills – both verbal and written.
  • Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with Batch Job Scheduler connections with ECP (ESP Scheduler and Stone branch)

 

 

 

Salary range: $95,000-$145,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
