The Sr. Associate position primarily performs various product and regulatory compliance functions related to  long-term care (LTC) products.  Responsible for drafting, revising  and filing policy forms and other documents with applicable jurisdictions in order to secure approval by state regulators.  Provides guidance and serves as a technical resource for long-term care product compliance.  Collaborates with internal resources to resolve insurance department objections and ensure that LTC product materials are in compliance with state requirements.   Develops good relationships with state insurance department personnel to ensure prompt and courteous services as company filings are reviewed.  This position will also be responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support for new product initiatives for long-term care products.  Also may be responsible for assisting with other compliance matters such as state reporting, legislative and regulatory tracking, determining impact of regulations to the business and notification to appropriate parties.  

 

  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the long-term care products and any related new product initiatives to include management of form drafting, revision and filings to state departments of insurance
  • Collaborates with stakeholders  to provide responses on objections and guidance on state requirements 
  • Manages implementation of regulatory mandates related to long-term care products
  • May perform regulatory research,  participate in industry meetings, monitor new and amended regulations and evaluate potential impact of proposed legislation to long-term care products

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • Excellent research and project management skills
  • 3+ years experience in the insurance industry and general knowledge of LTC business
  • Strong personal computer skills - MS Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint and Adobe Professional
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance filing practices
  • Experience drafting and filing forms for approval with state departments of insurance and IIPRC. Experience with SERFF and I-File systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and analytic skills to effectively identify potential compliance issues
  • Knowledge of company and industry best practices for filings
