GBS

 

 

This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Under certain circumstances, will consider a remote option.

 

Serves as a liaison between existing Third Party Administrators (TPA) & New York Life Group Benefit Solutions(NYL GBS).   Develops and implements the policy for administrative services of our existing Group Universal Life, Term Life, Accident and Disability lines of business and any new product lines developed by NYL GBS – this includes services related to our full-administration and self-administration Clients. Interfaces with other departments for development and coordination of customer support activities. Provides Client and Customer support and service intended to bring solutions to complex problems and service related needs.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the activities of the TPAs utilized by Service Operations; ensure they are adhering to their contractual obligations and compliant with NYL GBS product requirements and Compliance regulations.
  • Create, implement, and maintain business operation standards and procedures. Evaluate business requirements, models data and/or systems requirements, and develops requirements and documentation.
  • Review and authorize consumer or client exceptions. Work with internal enterprise partners including Client Management, Sales, Case Underwriting and Legal to resolve account issues.
  • Monitor TPAs to ensure they are meeting the required implementation timelines for new client implementations.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate the design, development, and implementation of new service process and technology improvement opportunities, including process definition to meet the needs of our Clients.
  • Support strategic initiatives in the review and establishment of new service vendors and expansion of service offerings to support the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Support Corporate Audit in annual audit activities.
  • Review TPA invoices and authorize payment
  • Support the team with workload at times when there are limited resources due to peak periods and vacation schedules.
  • Lead and participate in training, team meetings, work sessions and resource meetings as needed or assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 5+ years' prior insurance service administration experience required
  • 3 year experience supporting complex policy/certificate issue or compliance related scenarios is highly preferred
  • In-depth product knowledge and administration functions of NYL GBS business including contractual and regulatory requirements is highly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and listening skills to respond to a variety of customer inquiries is required
  • Excellent analytical, project management, negotiation skills and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to assist in the development of excel reporting requirements is required

Salary range: $47,500-$70,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
