Position Summary:

Finance Operations serves as a central team for providing solutions to the business across finance processes, data, systems and organization. The Finance Service Management team, which is a part of Finance Operations, is responsible for providing strategic and tactical solutions for improving finance processes and operations.

This role will work closely with the core finance functions, senior finance leadership across the FSO, Corporate, and BU Finance groups to identify and implement process improvements. This position is based out of the Jersey City location and may require travel to the New York City office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of process solutions identified on projects; responsibility will include process improvement, implementation of leading practices and tools, Cost/Benefit analysis, organizational change management, and measuring and managing benefits realization
  • Work closely with process owners, collaborate to resolve issues encountered, liaise with all stakeholders
  • Responsible for providing support, analysis, and research into complex problems and processes relating to Accounting & Finance and FP&A functions
  • Serve as a liaison between the accounting & FP&A teams and IT and/or project teams; work with internal and external resources
  • Provide work direction to others and support the Service Management lead
  • Monitor the new process to ensure that it is working as intended and adjust, as needed
  • Work closely with project manager to report and monitor the status of the project.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10 years plus experience of consistently delivering quantifiable results via the implementation of multi-faceted solutions (operational improvement, process standardization/optimization, Shared Services/CoEs and various technology platforms including reporting applications)
  • 5 years plus experience in a lead Continuous Improvement role working with senior Finance executives
  • Strong functional knowledge of finance processes, especially as it relates to the insurance industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated; with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to inspire other team members to give their best effort and setting the direction for many initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively work with individuals both inside and outside the company
  • Customer focus and stakeholder management skill
  • Able to manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery against tight deadlines
  • Exceptional at multitasking and quickly shifting from task to task with team members
  • Strong coach, open minded and adaptable as you will function as a change agent. 
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrate high level of self-awareness, professionalism and integrity with all internal and external parties
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business or Finance; Master degree / MBA is a plus
