The position will be a member of the Accounting and Controllership – Statutory Accounting and Reporting Division and will be actively involved in the quarterly and annual statutory reporting obligations for the New York Life Insurance Company, New York Life Insurance and Annuity Corporation ("NYLIAC") and NYLIFE Insurance Company of Arizona ("NYLAZ") (with a primary focus on NYLIAC and NYLAZ). The candidate will perform reporting functions and provide oversight over all work delivered by the co-source partner associated with these entities. Responsibilities will include updates of financial statements, footnotes, exhibits, schedules, surveys, state filings and other ad-hoc reporting requests. The candidate will participate in the entire end-to-end process of preparing, reviewing and filing the annual and quarterly statutory reports for the three insurance companies. 



  • Preparation of Annual Reporting Statement for the Life Insurance Companies
  • Preparation of Quarterly Reporting Statements for the Life Insurance Companies
  • Incorporation and interpretation of new reporting guidance and statutory accounting pronouncements 
  • Preparation and review of various state filings 
  • Support and maintain corporate control and regulatory guidelines 
  • Provide guidance to off-shore partners 
  • Build efficient and effective reporting and control processes
  • Innovation for best practices



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
  • 3-5 years of Accounting background preferred
  • Candidate should have an understanding of annual and quarterly statutory reporting guidelines (i.e. Blue book reporting)
  • Candidate should possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate should have a  general understanding of the life insurance industry and its products
  • Candidate should have the ability to problem solve, research and investigate accounting and reporting inconsistencies
