Location Designation: Clinton, NJ or Jersey City, NJ - This is a hybrid position that only requires 3 days per week onsite.
New York Life Insurance (NYL) is seeking a highly talented, driven Technical Systems Analyst to join our dynamic, high-performing team focused on transforming the experience of purchasing insurance from NYL. The Analyst role is critical to delivering our innovation roadmap. It requires a highly organized problem solver with a track record of working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team to deliver complex multi-million-dollar projects. The ideal candidate must have software implementation experience as well as a minimum of 4+ years of technical systems analysis or similar experience in a dynamic, complex, matrixed organization. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze business needs and translate those needs into business, functional and integration requirements suitable for consumption by the technology teams
- Write clear and concise requirements ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, feasible, unambiguous, traceable, and verifiable
- Ensure requirements are fully understood by configuration, development, integration, and testing teams to efficiently implement new features and enhancements
- Support architects, designers and technical leads to design best practice solutions that satisfy business requirements. Requires understanding of data flow, system dependencies and interactions
- Verifies that the solution meets the business, compliance, and technical requirements
- Support business and technology teams to ensure key deliverables are met in an accurate timely manner
- Partner with QA/UAT to design optimal test coverage based on acceptance criteria, business impact of defects, and technical risk for defects
- Build trusted relationships across product owners and various solution delivery teams. Requires working across multiple NYL teams and vendors to ensure business functionality is understood and properly prioritized
- Support change requests with project management and solution delivery teams to identify impact and prioritize
- Provide requirement clarification to assist with troubleshooting, remediating and managing production issues and defects during normal business hours
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 - 7+ years of experience doing system analysis/programmer analysis of complex and legacy systems
- A good understanding of APIs and requirements relating to APIs; Mulesoft experience knowledge - preferred
- Excellent communication skills: executive presence who can distill high level information and capture detailed, easy to read requirements
- Create and implement requirements management plan and approach, including identification of stakeholders, decomposition of the project scope into manageable units
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoff between usability and performance needs.
- Experience working with Rest, SOAP services
- Have experience thinking through complex integrations and data flows
- Experience working with databases. Ability to run SQL queries, understand entity relationship, understand
- Track down data lineage, system of record, truth
- Experience analyzing integrations with mainframe systems
- Document current and future process flows, as well as business architecture documents using industry standard modeling techniques
- Familiarity with financial and preferably insurance industry
