The Private Equity Primaries (focus on Co-Investments), Vice President will possess a strong understanding of private equity company underwriting and can demonstrate an ability to balance detail with broader issues, in both written and oral communication.  The primary responsibilities include coordinating industry research and company diligence, preparing transaction memos and underwriting reports, developing and evaluating financial models, supporting legal documentation negotiation, managing deal closings, and supporting a portfolio of private equity co-investments. The individual should be able to draw thoughtful and relevant conclusions based on their analysis of new transactions and can effectively communicate their findings both internally and externally.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Sourcing and executing private equity co-investments
  • Monitoring existing co-investment portfolios
  • Support other parts of the Apogem Private Equity business in sourcing and underwriting investment opportunities
  • Act as a mentor to junior investment professionals
  • Play a key role in organizing workflows / processes around efficiency, including data initiatives that create labor saving tools. Use data thoughtfully and generously when making new investments, managing an existing portfolio, and drawing conclusions on market trends
  • Assist senior IPs and BD/IR in capital formation and investor reporting materials
  • Be a resource for routine Limited Partner updates
  • Originate and cultivate new prospective Limited Partner investors
  • As part of smaller working groups, study and execute on new product development initiatives

 

Candidate Profile

  • Bachlors degree required in Finance, Economics or related field 
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Prior investment banking, private equity, and/or private equity co-investment experience is required
  • Robust analytical, problem-solving, organizational and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time and workload efficiently
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willing to travel ~25% of time

 

The preferred location for this position is NYC with a secondary option of Richmond, VA.
