Role Overview:

Why do we need this type of creative design talent at New York Life? For starters, New York Life is rapidly expanding the solutions it provides and the audiences it serves. This transformation will require an evolution of the New York Life brand – including reimagining the way the brand shows up visually; for employees, consumers, businesses, and institutional clients.

The Creative Design Director will develop work on their own as well as with the support of the in-house design team, writers, and strategists – and will report to the VP, Head of Brand Strategy & Creative.
What You’ll Do:
- Working with external agency partner to design and implement new visual identity and guidelines for New York Life (including color palette, photography style, fonts, iconography, and design system treatments).
- Developing and maintaining a clear POV on the design direction of the brand, as well as consumer and competitive context.
- Sharing and socializing the visual identity and design ethos of the brand with internal and external creative teams, marketing partners, and stakeholders across the company.
- Working with Head of Brand Strategy & Creative to develop innovative creative ideas (ads, content, digital assets, signage, experiential).
- Collaborating with in-house designers and production team to extend identity system across product marketing and sales collateral.
- Managing workflow, resources, and related creative budgets with support and guidance from Creative Ops and Production leaders.
- Staying ahead of design-oriented innovation and trends including AI.
