New York Life’s primary distribution channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000 agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United States.  Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and sales.  Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent office locations. 


Our General Offices are divided up among four Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards, training, marketing and communications supports our agents and field managers.  The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in key market segments, including the middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select cultural markets, and the women’s markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance products, as well as mutual funds.


Role Overview

  • Deliver impactful training materials for New Registered Representatives, Established Registered Representatives, Registered Representatives Staff, Field Management (General Offices & Agency Standards Managers) and Home Office Employees.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to determine learning needs and develop learning content.
  • Create and implement learning solutions including course materials, eLearning modules, webinars, job aids and presentations.
  • Record and edit learning videos.
  • Draft internal and field communications related to Learning and Development content. 
  • Manage the compliance approval process for Learning and Development content.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual Field Office training.
  • Coordinate training sessions, including location, speakers, attendance, and training materials. 
  • Produce reports and conduct analysis as requested by management.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Series 6 or Series 7 and Series 63 licenses preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in content development and/or agent/advisor support
  • Wealth Management experience strongly preferred
  • Must understand the key drivers of NYLIFE Securities and the key drivers of a registered representatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency a plus
  • Experience working directly with advisors strongly preferred
