Role Overview:

 

The Quality Manager role will lead a Contract Review team responsible for reviewing contract work and tasks associated with setting up contracts and executing contracts amendments, renewals, etc. Furthermore, the role is about providing insights via industry leading quality and risk management practices. This leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and reduce business risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and influencing skills and a strong background in quality management, risk assessment, and business process optimization within the insurance or financial services industry.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Drive the vision of Quality throughout the organization, establishing a culture that challenges the status quo and fosters business process improvement.
  • Acts as a figure of authority / SME regarding review methodology and its application(s) to processes.
  • Researches, interprets and responds to inquiries from internal customers regarding identified quality trends and root cause analysis.
  • Drive change and influence individuals at all levels of the organization to minimize risks exposure.
  • Manages relationship with any compliance, legal and external audit partners (e.g. SOX, SSAE – 16 and Corporate Audit)
  • Evaluate Review efficiency in partnership with Business Stakeholders by utilization of quality methodology based on actionable data, such as implementation of KPIs, internal evaluation process, data analysis etc.
  • Oversee global and effective communications of review results by ensuring delivery of actionable insights to internal business partners for action plans
  • Proposes changes in designing, implementing and monitoring of complex review programs.
  • Develops review policies and procedures.
  • Design and develop Quality Systems Strategy for Group Operations to ensure consistency of delivery and measurable results in alignment with the expectations of our customers.
  • Manages productivity and overall review performance of direct reports.
  • Develops functional team members through effective coaching and guidance, empowering and enabling strong leadership from each.
  • Leads People Initiatives (with HR) including compensation planning, performance management, staffing and employee relations concerns/issues, employee recruitment, training, teaming and employee development.

  • Responsible for driving business operations projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Oversees outcomes of calibration sessions.
  • Close partnership with Quality tools team to ensure team tool needs are being met and maintained as processes evolve.
  • Champions Contract Review Program for peers and internal customers.
  • Demonstrates seasoned knowledge of Group Insurance Products and Contracts life cycle end-to-end processes
  • Acts as a figure of authority / SME in regard to Quality Center of Excellence (QCoE) methodology and its application(s) to product processes.
  • Communicates and cultivates awareness of QCoE Programs to peers and internal customers.
  • Ensures quality deliverables, such as reviewing contracts, are completed and in delivered in alignment with standard operating procedures
  • Recommends appropriate quality management methodology to internal customers by providing consultative services and guidance including quality methodology, compliance and legal guidelines and business standard references.
  • Researches, interprets and responds to inquiries from internal customers regarding identified audit trends and root causes analysis.
  • Solves escalated problems or coordinates their resolution with appropriate business partners.
  • Identifies and recommends changes / action plan(s) for continuous improvement to business stakeholders
  • Acts as a liaison among Compliance, Legal, Audit and Business Management.
  • Oversees outcomes of audit calibration sessions.
  • Oversees tool needs for the Contract Review team (ex: review forms, reports, etc.), working in partnership with the QCoE tools team.
  • Solves problems or coordinate their resolution with appropriate business partners.
  • Validates the development of process documentation (process workflow and mapping) if deemed appropriate, and in alignment with the evolving technology the business is adopting.
  • Promotes and proposes solutions related to areas of opportunities or improvement such as training curriculum and content, Standard Operating Procedures, Productivity and Metrics etc.…
  • Manages Contract Review team on a daily basis, ensuring review goals are being met, in alignment with SOPs/business agreements.

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7+ Group Insured / Voluntary product experience required
  • 3+ years of relevant related work experience required
  • Experience in quality control / quality assurance preferred
  • Change Management experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to communicate compliance, legal and business complex processes
  • Outstanding management skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to details, organized, quality and productivity driven

Pay Transparency

Salary range: $77,500-$110,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
