Role Overview:
Reporting to the New York Life Group Benefits Solutions (NYL GBS) Creative Director, this role is responsible for the delivery of timely, relevant, modern, and impactful content and design that supports business and marketing strategies. The right candidate will integrate the latest technology and trends to create visually compelling and impactful material that is simple to understand and always on brand.
To be effective in this role, the candidate must be an exceptional creative thinker with a strategic and tactical mindset and the ability to plan, coordinate and execute programs in collaboration with teammates and partners. The right candidate must be a problem solver that is results-driven, organized, efficient and can thrive in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous, and fast paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop, design, and execute exceptional content that surprises and delights while solving for the identified business need. This includes B2B and B2C for a variety of media – including brochures, flyers, presentation material, email, landing pages, video content, social media, and newsletters.
- Produce concepts that push past the expected while remaining true to the strategic direction and the brand.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy for high volume quick-turn changes.
- Have a strong understanding of digital tools and technology, as well as a commitment to staying informed on trends and new developments in digital media and content creation.
- Consult with internal partners on tactics and strategic objectives to inform clear design direction while identifying meaningful opportunities to innovate.
- Partner with the Creative Director, Brand Team and other key stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered in compliance with all applicable policies and guidelines.
- Accountable for developing and delivering to production schedules and cost estimates.
- Provide tactical support including proof reading and quality control across marketing material.
- Become a subject matter expert on all things Group Insurance.
- Interpret messaging in marketing text, and create appropriate branded layouts and visual assets to better communicate concepts (i.e. data visualization, infographics, presentation decks, and more).
- Work directly with partners to prioritize tasks and help drive projects through completion as a project management steward.
- This role may support PowerPoint presentation material up-to 20% of the time.
- Prioritize individual growth with annual goals aligned to business needs, personal stretch assignments and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years in creative advertising with specific experience developing and executing print collateral, digital communications, and general advertising material.
- Previous experience working in group insurance or financial industry preferred.
- Driven, passionate and curious with superior creative instincts and strong design and layout aesthetics while following brand guidelines.
- High proficiency using standard design applications (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Proficient with digital accessibility standards and able to trouble shoot and remediate accessibility issues for digital outputs.
- Knowledge of html coding specifically for email development preferred (Dreamweaver).
- General understanding of website development a plus (CMS/HTML/CSS/ UI/UX).
- Experience with motion graphics or video editing a plus (After Effect, Premiere)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment while juggling multiple, sometimes competing priorities.
- An excellent communicator with a positive attitude and stellar listening, analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong production knowledge of direct mail and offset and digital print processes.
- Tuned-in to social media, mobile and emerging technologies as-well-as design trends.
- Ability to influence direction and action.
- Goal oriented and personally accountable, resourceful, self-directed and motivated.
- Must provide a strong online portfolio that demonstrates high-caliber design for print and digital outputs.

Pay Transparency
Salary range: $60,000-$86,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
