Job Title:  Senior Associate, Compliance Analytics and Monitoring

Location: This position reports to the NY Life headquarters in New York, NY. Applicants may work from a Home Office within a commutable distance of New York, NY.

Offered Wage: $153,525.00/year

 

Duties: Participates in the design and testing of new and existing reports, enhancements, and systems to improve and automate existing processes. Identifies and prioritizes advanced analytics and machine-learning use cases. Analyzes data from multiple sources to understand key information for proactive compliance risk identification, data visualization, and data reconciliation. Prepares reports and data analyses to develop actionable insights and messaging to senior stakeholders and regulators. Collects and analyzes customer complaints, transactions, sales, and agent data on a scheduled and ad hoc basis. Gathers and reviews data and information received from internal business units in response to testing requests, monitoring exceptions, and regulatory filings, exams, and inquiries, including the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Market Conduct Annual Statement. Performs data-driven testing and monitoring of assigned risk areas. Creates and reviews monitoring dashboards and reports to identify potential concerns requiring further review or follow-up. Collaborates with other internal business units to develop corrective action plans and control improvements based on testing findings. Prepares testing documentation and summary reports, and distributes findings to cross-functional stakeholders and senior management.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Business Analytics or Computer Science (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience performing data analytics, business intelligence, and software development or systems analysis in the financial services industry.

Or, alternatively:

Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics or Computer Science (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience performing data analytics, business intelligence, and software development or systems analysis in the financial services industry.

 

Required Skills:

Experience must include 2 years in each of the following skills:

  1. Designing, testing, and maintaining reports, system enhancements, and functionality according to business requirements, leveraging SQL databases and reporting and visualization layers;

 

  1. Managing technical projects and gathering requirements across a wide range of stakeholders and financial services products, with emphasis on life insurance, annuity or retail securities products;

 

  1. Providing business insights and metrics for supported applications or data domains to support strategic decision-making, product development and administration or regulatory compliance; and,

 

  1. Coordinating projects involving data interfaces and transmissions between multiple systems, including batch, real-time, and mainframe.
