Senior Associate - Compliance Analytics
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
This position is hybrid - Tuesday - Thursday in the New York Office and Monday and Friday work from home.

Role Overview:
The Corporate Compliance Department (CCD) of New York Life Insurance Company seeks an experienced professional to join its Compliance Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data analysis techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to transform complex datasets into meaningful business insights. This team is responsible for building dynamic action-oriented dashboards, data analyses, data models, and alerts for the department and other business areas. The team is also tasked with supporting the ongoing development of a data-driven compliance testing and monitoring program for the retail insurance and securities businesses and identifying opportunities to strengthen the Company's regulatory control environment to better identify potential regulatory, sales practice, and supervision risks. Working collaboratively with other teams within CCD and with key business partners will be imperative.
What You'll Do:
Extract, build, and maintain data sets that provide insights related to agents’ sales practices, customer risk patterns, regulatory and competitive insights, and company policies.
Participate in the design, development, and testing of new dashboards, reports, and machine learning models.
Solve strategically significant questions through innovative analytical techniques.
Recommend solutions to CCD and business management to enhance programs and processes.
Create and maintain documents, procedures, and work papers to evidence methodologies.
Provide support to other team members handling regulatory exams, inquiries, and required filings.
Perform special projects as needed.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or quantitative discipline. Advanced degree in data science or analytics is a plus.
2+ years of experience in a related field; financial services experience is a plus, preferably in a compliance, risk, or audit function.
Proficiency with SQL, Tableau, R and/or Python.
Preferred: Experience with supervised learning techniques, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and experimental design
Knowledge of insurance, annuity, and securities products is preferred but not required
Excellent communication and project management skills

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
